I have to say that I was more than inspired when I ran accross this interesting and talented designer from the 80's, known as Patrick Kelly born in Vicksburg, Mississippi on September 24, 1954. He became familiar with fashion design at a young age, with no educational bacground in fashion. He somehow ventured his way into the fashion industry with the support of his friend Pat Cleveland. Through tons of research, I stumbled across one of the most innovative designers of history. Not only was he African American, but he was the first to be named the prestigious Chambre of Syndicale in Paris, France. Kelly's trademark had been large colorful buttons, his creative nature had expanded with the use of bows, lips, and billard balls in all of his designs.
